Entertainment for all ages at The Malthouse Theatre

As October half term approaches in Canterbury, families will find compelling reasons to head to the Malthouse Theatre for a treat of live performance. On Monday 27th October 2025, Let’s All Dance Ballet Company presents Hansel & Gretel with two matinees (1pm and 3pm). This vibrant new ballet adaptation of the Brothers Grimm fairytale is ideal for children aged around 5–12 (and those with special needs), combining expressive storytelling, imaginative staging and a short 40‑minute running time, perfect for younger attention spans.

A highlight later in the week is Dinosaur Adventure Live on Wednesday 29th October, with performances at 2pm and 4.30pm. This energetic show brings prehistoric giants to life in a thrilling, interactive experience that dazzles with roars, educational content and family‑friendly excitement, especially sure to delight dinosaur fans.

Together, these productions offer a thoughtfully balanced half‑term treat: Hansel & Gretel with ballet charm and fairy‑tale magic; Dinosaur Adventure Live for fun, awe‑inspiring theatrical spectacle. Add to that nearby evening shows like Now That’s West End, The Magic of the Beatles and Gandini Juggling: Smashed (though more suited to older children), and the Malthouse half term becomes a vibrant stage of creativity for all ages.

Parents will appreciate the range: from short, accessible performances to interactive theatrical wonder, all set in a welcoming venue offering relaxed accessibility and easy local parking. It promises to be a fun and engaging break for families in Canterbury this October. Visit www.malthousetheatre.co.uk for more information.
