Here at Citizens Advice we offer a free, independent, confidential, and impartial service helping people resolve their money, legal and other problems by providing information and advice. This is available to everyone regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, religion, age or nationality. We also carry out research and campaign to influence policymakers. This is all possible because of our excellent staff and volunteers.
Why volunteer with us? The volunteers at Citizens Advice Welwyn & Hatfield can expect to learn different skills, meet new people and contribute to the community. In 2013, a survey of Citizens Advice volunteers showed that volunteering boosted employability, self-esteem and health. It also revealed that 6 in 10 people who gave their time to the Citizens Advice service felt less stressed as a result.
One volunteer with us observed “I have learnt so much since starting volunteering and it’s good to be able to ‘give back’ in such a friendly environment”.
We have a variety of roles to suit different skills, interests and availability and we welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.
If you can spare a few hours each week and would be interested in volunteering with then please apply by visiting whcab.org/cawh/home/vacancies, calling 01707 280425 or emailing hr@whcab.org.uk
