Join Geraint Bowen, Peter Dyke and Jake Buckton for a fun and fascinating afternoon exploring the pipes and pedals of Hereford Cathedral’s organs followed by pizza! The event takes place on Saturday 3 May at 3.15 pm and is free to attend.
Hereford Cathedral is famous worldwide for its Father Willis organ which sits proudly in the nave of the cathedral. But did you know the cathedral is also home to two other pipe organs? In this interactive event, Geraint Bowen (Director of Music), Peter Dyke (Assistant Director of Music) and Jake Buckton (Organ Scholar) will demonstrate all three instruments, both individually and together.
Designed with families in mind, this event offers an engaging introduction to how an organ works. Discover the lowest and loudest sounds, learn how to make music using just a hosepipe and funnel, and experience the thrilling moment when all three cathedral organs are played at once! After the performance, members of the music department will be available to answer any questions
