4 family favourite holidays and what to do

With so many people of different ages to consider, family holidays can be hard to perfect. The kids want to have fun while the parents wish to relax, but why can’t you have both?

There are plenty of destinations that are sure to excite all members of the family. Check out our four family favourite holidays to find out where you should go and what you should do on your next vacation.

Mallorca, Spain
Guaranteed sun, sea and sand - what more could you ask for? This gorgeous Spanish island is a major holiday hotspot for people of all ages, making it ideal for a family trip. There are plenty of gorgeous villas to choose from, such as those available from Oliver’s Travels, so finding the perfect accommodation that everyone can enjoy is easy.

Head from your villa to Katmandu Park for some family-friendly fun. With a multitude of exciting rides, 4D encounters, climbing zones and even a splash park, everyone will have endless amounts of fun here. There’s plenty of natural beauty to be found on the island too, if that’s more your thing, such as Playa de Alcudia beach and Cuevas del Drach caves.

Orlando, Florida
If you ask any child where they’d like to go on holiday, the vast majority of them would say Disneyland. Based in the sunny state of Florida, a holiday to Disneyland would make for a truly magical trip they would remember for a lifetime. The enormous theme park isn’t just for kids, either, with a plethora of rollercoasters and rides to suit all ages.

If Disney isn’t your thing, there’s so much more to do in this beautiful state. Home of the American alligator, there’s plenty of wildlife experiences to get stuck into. Try feeding a peckish giraffe at Bush Gardens or swimming with a friendly dolphin at Discovery Cove. There are a multitude of restaurants too, so you’ll definitely find something that everyone enjoys tucking into.

Galway, Ireland
If you’re an Ed Sheeran fan you’ll have likely heard about this location. Here, you can experience the traditional beauty of Ireland when paying Galway a visit. Perfect for those who want to surround themselves with striking natural scenery, this western county is ideal for older kids, teenagers and adults.

See the stunning views across Galway Bay, explore Connemara National Park and investigate the Medieval City Walls during your stay. Once you’ve finished checking out the natural attractions, turn your attention to the town. The Latin Quarter is full of street vendors and performers, as well as amazing pubs, shops and restaurants.

Vienna, Austria
You may not consider Vienna to be a child-friendly location, but there’s actually plenty of activities for little ones. Take them to Prater Amusement Park to ride on the enormous Ferris wheel and the other rides, of which there are over 250. Young ones will adore the ZOOM Children’s Museum too, where they can crawl through tunnels made of mirrors, jump on fun water mattresses and much more.

As well as activities for the children, there is plenty for adults too. The European city is full of beautiful architecture and history, so it’s well worth exploring during your visit. Schönbrunn Palace, for example, is sure to take your breath away. Take a tour of the palace and grounds to see a great example of architectural beauty before exploring the grand maze. Just don’t get lost!

Wherever you go, take time to put together an itinerary before you arrive. This way, you can ensure there are enough activities to keep everyone entertained.
