Free Family Fun returns to The Baytree this Summer

Families looking for affordable ways to keep the children entertained this summer can head to The Baytree Shopping Centre, where a fantastic programme of FREE arts and crafts activities will be taking place throughout the school holidays, alongside the ever-popular The Baytree Beach in Brentwood.

Running from 10am until 3pm, The Great Baytree Craft Along invites children to get creative with a different themed craft session each week. Packed with hands-on activities, colourful creations and plenty of imagination, every event is designed to inspire young minds while providing parents with a fun, free day out.

The summer programme begins on Tuesday 28th July with Unicorn Craft Kingdom, where little ones can create magical unicorn-themed crafts, colourful keepsakes and immerse themselves in a world of glitter, rainbows and creativity.

On Tuesday 4th August, it's time for Pow! Bam! Create!, a superhero-inspired craft adventure. Children can design masks, create comic-style masterpieces and bring their favourite heroes to life through exciting hands-on activities. Joining the fun will be Saint Francis Hospice, where children can meet Frankie the Lion and take part in a special superhero colouring activity. The hospice team will also be hosting a charity hamper raffle and sharing information about their fantastic work in the local community and upcoming events.

The creativity continues on Tuesday 11th August with Build It at The Baytree, encouraging budding builders and inventors to design, construct and create using a variety of building blocks. Visitors can also enjoy energetic games and activities with Active Essex, giving children even more opportunities to get active while having fun.

The summer programme concludes on Tuesday 18th August with Jurassic Craft Zone. Young dinosaur fans can travel back in time to enjoy prehistoric-themed crafts, roaring creations and plenty of Jurassic-inspired fun alongside Saint Francis Hospice.

The Baytree Beach is open daily from 10am until 4pm* and is completely free to enjoy. Children can build sandcastles, play in the sand and soak up the summer atmosphere while parents and grandparents relax nearby. Together with the weekly craft sessions, it's the perfect way to enjoy quality family time without stretching the summer holiday budget.

Maria Kyriacou-Edwards from The Baytree Shopping Centre commented: “We know how important it is for families to find affordable ways to keep the children entertained during the summer holidays, so we're delighted to once again bring back our free summer activities. From magical unicorns and superheroes to dinosaurs and creative building challenges, there's something different to enjoy each week. Combined with The Baytree Beach, we're giving families even more reasons to visit, make memories together and enjoy everything the shopping centre has to offer."

All events are free to attend, with no booking required. Simply come along between 10am and 3pm on event days and join in the fun.
