Mythical Creatures and Half-Term Fun at Colchester Museums!
Step inside the historic Colchester Castle this February and embark on a story quest before the enchanting Mythical Creatures exhibition closes on 22 February!
Inspired by medieval tales, this family-friendly display brings dragons, unicorns, mermaids, and griffins to life through storytelling and curious objects.
Half-term is packed with exciting activities across Colchester’s three museums. At the Castle, join family tours (16–20 Feb) to uncover legendary beasts, handle replica swords in the Armoury sessions (17, 19 & 20 Feb), or get creative at the Mythical Creature Workshop (16 & 21 Feb). There’s even a Relaxed Opening on 18 Feb for visitors who prefer a quieter experience.
Over at Hollytrees Museum, step back in time with Meet the Servant (19 Feb) and discover Georgian life or enjoy hands-on fun with Toys of the Past Craft (20 Feb). Both activities are free after admission.
