February Half Term Fun: The Wind in the Willows Trail
Step into a storybook this February half term (14th–22nd February) and join Mole, Ratty, Toad and Badger on a magical adventure at RHS Garden Hyde Hall.
To mark the 95th anniversary of E. H. Shepard’s much‑loved illustrations, the gardens have been transformed into an enchanting, interactive trail that brings The Wind in the Willows to life.
From Saturday 14th February, and then continuing throughout the year, families can follow Mole, Ratty and Badger through the garden, keeping an eye out for mischievous Mr Toad, and discover tales of friendship, loyalty and the natural world along the way. You could even enjoy a picnic like Ratty and Mole.
There’s even more to enjoy during half term, with storytelling sessions on Tuesday 17th February and creative craft and planting workshops running from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th February. Children can make two crafts and plant their very own seed character to take home and nurture. Booking is essential via the website – rhs.org.uk/hydehall
Just outside Chelmsford, Hyde Hall is open daily from 10am with free parking. Follow the brown tourist signs from the A130 southbound - and don’t miss out on this memorable family day out!
