Exciting things to celebrate this spring at Audley End!
A new name, an updated look, new play village & Mother’s Day Fun
For the past few months, we’ve been busy sprinkling a little magic behind the scenes. We have evolved our name to Audley End Enchanted Railway with a new look to match!
For more than 60 years, families have known and loved us, here at Audley End Miniature Railway and that history will always be at the heart of what we do. But over the decades, the experience has grown far beyond the original train ride. 2026 will further demonstrate our commitment to offering families adventurous and meaningful family days out throughout the seasons in the great outdoors!
Our owner, Amanda Murray, who took over from her father, the late Lord Braybrooke, in 2010, shares it best:
“Our new look and name mark a new chapter in such an exciting time for us. I am so proud to have grown my father’s beloved railway into the magical world it is today, and it’s all thanks to our wonderful customers who entrust us to come and create memories with their families. It means so much to be able to share this beautiful corner of the world with so many people. Cherishing childhood, being out in nature and championing human connection in an increasingly digital world is what it’s all about for us.”
We wanted to give a taste of what to expect this spring, at Audley End Enchanted Railway...
Audley End Enchanted Railway Launches New Play Village This Mother’s Day Weekend 14–15 March | Mothers and Grandmothers Go Free
Audley End Enchanted Railway is welcoming spring with the launch of its brand-new Play Village this Mother’s Day Weekend (14–15 March). Designed for toddlers and little ones, the Play Village features five themed role-play houses, including; a café, wood workshop, hospital, school and music house, encouraging imagination, confidence and social development through play.
In 2025 we worked with Dr. Sara Baker, a developmental psychologist from the University of Cambridge. She gave us insight on how we can develop our offering to further support babies and young children’s learning and development. Her feedback helped us to develop the play village, stating that “children’s development is enhanced with activities that are playful, where children spend time with their caregivers in relatively unstructured environments that spark imagination.” We hope this new play village offers exactly that.
Families can also enjoy the enchanted woodland train ride, around the forest, and look out for spring scenes around the track. Once back at the station, hop off and explore the Fairy and Elf Walk as the site comes into bloom. Let little ones burn off energy at the adventure playground. The woodland café will be open serving hot drinks, lunches and sweet treats.
To celebrate Mother’s Day, all mothers and grandmothers go free during the event weekend.
Audley End Enchanted Railway promises a relaxed, outdoor family day out, perfect for making memories.
