Lighting up Chelmsford for Christmas - 17th November

Sun 17th November sees the start of Chelmsford’s festive celebrations.  A spectacular day of events, activities and entertainment will take place throughout the City centre, from 12pm.  Four winning local residents from the newly launched CM1STMAS Awards will be chosen to perform the honour of ‘pushing the plunger’ to illuminate Chelmsford.

On the main stage outside Shire Hall, an exciting programme of entertainment, compered by BBC Essex Radio will culminate in the very popular ‘Lights Switch On’ ceremony at 5pm, triggering a fantastic firework display.

As well as the main stage action, there will be a host of other activities and events taking place throughout the city, including:

· The Bond Street Bowl featuring an Alpine Ski Lodge Bar for winter cocktails, frosty beers, mulled wine and more!

· Springfield Road with seasonal arts and crafts.

· Town Sign Stage with live acoustic acts, storytellers and stand-up comedians.

· Half Moon Square with Santa and his sleigh.
