Ready to sparkle: Our guide to this year's firework displays

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1

West Calder Fireworks Display, Burngrange Playing Fields, behind West Calder Community Centre, Dixon Street, West Calder EH55 8DZ. Kids rides, balloons and face-painting from 5pm until fireworks at 7pm. Annual fireworks display organised by West Calder and Harburn Community Trust. Food available, plus sweets and merchandise stalls. Free event with donation boxes at entrances.

Dobbies, Livingston, EH52 6PA. 5.30pm-8.30pm (fireworks at 7.30pm) Shopping, street food and fireworks evening. Firework display only: adults £5, children £3, with street food: adults £9.95, children £6.95

Dobbies, Lasswade, EH18 1AZ. 5.30pm-8.30pm (fireworks at 7.30pm) Shopping, street food and fireworks evening. Firework display only: adults £5, children £3, with street food: adults £9.95, children £6.95

Dunbar Fireworks, Hallhill football pitch, Dunbar. Gates open at 6.15 for 7pm start. Adults £2, children £1. All proceeds to local good causes. Burger stall will be open. Free glow sticks for the children.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 2

Linlithgow Rugby Club, 34 Mains Rd, Linlithgow EH49 6DB. Doors open at 6.30pm, fireworks start at 7.30pm for approx half an hour. Tickets: £12 (family of 5) and £4 (individual) if purchased before the event at a number of local outlets or on the night, £15 and £5 respectively. Entertainment from fire-eater Dragonbreath Entertainments. Glow toys, burgers, hot dogs, tea, coffee and soup on sale. The bar will also be open. No sparklers. Call the club on 01506 845087

Hopetoun Fireworks and Bonfire Night, Hopetoun House, South Queensferry EH30 9RW. 4pm-8pm. Tenth birthday of the annual fireworks extravaganza.  Ticket prices vary. For more info visit hopetoun.co.uk

Haddington Fireworks and Torchlight Procession. Torchlight procession leaves Corn Exchange, Haddington at 6.30, led by Haddington Pipe Band. Torches can be collected from Corn Exchange from 5.45 - no ticket, no torch. Gates open at Whittinghame Drive at 6.30pm, snacks, kids rides and glow in the dark items on sale. Bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks 7.30pm, music by Saltire Radio

Grange Annual Fireworks Display, Grange Cricket Club, Edinburgh. Food served from 6pm, fireworks at 7pm. Tickets, adult £8, child £4, family £20
 

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 3

George Watson’s Rugby Ground, Myreside Road, Edinburgh EH10 5SB. Two displays; from 4.30pm to 5.15pm, and from 7pm to 7.45pm. Staged by Scottish Love in Action, an Edinburgh-based charity helping vulnerable children in India. Fireworks display by Pyromancer Fireworks, entertainment includes Delighters Fire Circus Theatre and The MGA Academy of Performing Arts and Pipe Bands. Hot food and drinks available. Limefield Park, Chapelton Drive, Polbeth, West Lothian, EH55 8SQ. Annual fireworks display organised by Polbeth Amateur Football Club. 7pm sharp. No entry charge, donations welcomed. Hot food and drinks available to buy in club café.

Aberlady Fireworks & Bonfire Night, Foxhills Field, Aberlady. Gates open 5pm, bonfire lit 6pm, fireworks 6.30pm. Advance tickets: £12 per family, £3 per person, £4 parking at Craigielaw Golf Club. Humbie bonfire and fireworks, Post Office Field, behind the Humbie Hub, East Lothian. 4.15pm-6.15pm. Non-ticketed, donations welcomed with all funds going to Humbie After School Club. Homemade soup, sausage baps, s'mores, homemade cake available.

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 5

Deer Park, Golf Course Road Livingston, EH54 8AB. 7.30pm. Tickets £8 single, £30 for group of four. Discounts for pre-booking, dine and display options available. Visit deer-park.co.uk

East Lothian Yacht Club fireworks, North Berwick Harbour EH39 4JL. 7.30pm-9pm. Fireworks and bonfire, admission by donation. Visit elyc.org.uk

Arniston House Family Fireworks Party, Arniston House & Estate, Gorebridge,EH23 4RY. Admission from 6pm, bonfire lit at 7pm, fireworks 7.30pm. Girl guides’ popcorn and hot chocolate stall, hog roast supper, prizes for best Guy, bonfire and fireworks courtesy of Pyromancer.  Car parking pass £20.

George V Park, Currie EH14 5RT. Annual fireworks display organised by Currie, Balerno and District Round Table.

Musselburgh Fireworks, Fisherrrow Links, New Street, Musselburgh EH21. 6pm bonfire and fireworks.

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 8

Yester Fireworks Festival, Yester House, Fireworks at 7.30pm, food and drink served 5.30pm-7.30pm. Free event for those who have pre-registered and qualified for admission only – open to Gifford residents and children attending Yester Primary School only. Visit yesterestate.com
