Primary Times Children's Choice Awards review of One Duck Down

Our Primary Times' reviewer said:

One Duck Down is an energetic and entertaining show with a strong environmental message.

Billy is a 17 year old paper boy trying to win the heart of Cecelia; the audience know right away she’s not the one for him but Billy is blinded by love as she gives him task after impossible task to complete before they can be together. His final challenge is to gather all the 7000 rubber ducks that have spilled from a container ship into the ocean - this bit is based on a true story - and the audience get to go with him as he travels the ocean, encountering various entertaining characters along the way.

As Billy tries to complete his quest there are catchy songs, groanworthy puns, great costumes and lots of laughs. The show is recommended for ages 3-12 and the day we were there the audience spanned these age. One Duck Down has something for everyone (fart jokes! learner pirates! outdated pop references for the adults to enjoy!) and the applause at the end of the show made it clear that Faceplant Theatre know how to do a family show.

A fun show by a talented cast.

My 11 year old daughter said afterwards “It was funny and fun. I liked the huge fish and it had a nice ending.”
