A great lively musical and sensitively done, adaption of the classic picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Gruffalo's Child.
The set is minimalist but because its set in a wood it gives a good atmospheric feel for being set in the deep winter snow. The movable trees and gruffalo cave props help the journey through the story.
Intertwined with songs, narration and humorous characters the Gruffalo's Child comes across, in her search for the 'Big Bad Mouse'. Aiden (5.5) loved the depiction of the snake, he found him very funny and also loved how the Fox was portrayed and were both were very lively funny characters. The audience even gets a lesson in flying from the owl. There are some mildly scary bits for the 'Big Bad Mouse' but largely the show was a very warm and a beautiful depiction of the story. Definitely a lovely big production for any gruffalo lover.
Aiden (5.5) said "I loved the snake, he was really funny" "and the fox was really cool" "I really liked it"
