Jungle Bungle Review

Primary Times Reader Review Quote: 'An enjoyable tale of friendship and a celebration'

When Oliver arrives anxiously at a new school he is befriended by Claire who is intrigued by his quirkiness.  They go for a play in Oliver’s back garden and suddenly find themselves lost in the jungle and embark on an adventure using his curious compass.  Oliver is constantly fearful that something is following them.  After a misunderstanding Claire finds herself alone and bumps into Oliver’s favourite literary characters – Peter Pan and Dr Livingstone.  Together they help her find Oliver and discover what has been troubling him.

Highly professional, Richard Lowe and Rose Shalloo are an energetic duo, working hard every second of this lively and entertaining musical performance.  Talented singers, they engage the young audience with catchy songs and encourage them all to join in with the dancing despite the small and intimate space.

Jake (age 8) liked dancing to the safari song while Anna (age 6) liked the songs and watching Peter Pan dance with Claire.  An enjoyable tale of friendship and a celebration of the differences between us all this is a timely performance for all the young theatregoers shortly returning to and beginning school.
