Primary Times Reader Review Quote: ' Highly recommended viewing for audiences of all ages! '
When a stern man stands up to commence a 3 hour lecture on Shakespeare at the start of this show, he is immediately interrupted by his silly side kick who corrects him, "It's not William Shakespeare, it's Billy Waggledagger!". Needless to say, the lecture does not proceed. Instead, the audience is treated to the potted re-telling of the stories of Macbroth (AKA Macbeth) and Romejo and Juliecat. With creative use of props, the show tells the stories in an accessible and hilarious way (including an alternative ending to Romeo and Juliet where the grandchildren bring the warring families together!).
Eilidh (9) found the show "very funny", and enjoyed learning some of stories of Shakespeare which she had heard of but didn't know. Lewis (7) said the show was "fantastic" and enjoyed the blood and gore of Macbroth... With the assistance of a musician, the cast of two inject this show with boundless energy and enthusiasm, even throwing in a sing-along at the end. The educational value of the show is excellent; the kids will come away having learned the plots of two of Shakespeare's plays in a really fun way. Highly recommended viewing for audiences of all ages!
