After a much-anticipated return, Edinburgh Zoo's Giant Lanterns will once again light up the night from Friday 14th November 2025 to Sunday 22nd February 2026, bringing a spectacular new theme to the zoo.
For the first time since 2019, this magical outdoor trail will transform the zoo after dark with more than 60 unforgettable nights of colour, creativity and wonder. This year's trail takes you on a glowing journey beneath the waves, where you'll encounter dazzling sea creatures, mystical marine legends and ocean-inspired installations that will capture imaginations of all ages.
From shimmering jellyfish and playful dolphins to legendarybeasts of the deep, visitors can stroll through a vibrant landscape brought to life with lanterns crafted by skilled artisans. You'll also see beautiful representations of kelp forests, coastal seabirds and even a towering lighthouse, making this trail a celebration of life both above and below the surface.
