Get ready for Easter!

Easter is round the corner so it’s time to start preparing for a fun-filled time! We might be restricted on where we can go and what we can do at this time but that is all the more reason to make Easter eggstra (sorry) special at home.

So, here are a few tips to get ready for the Easter Bunny!

PREPARE AN EASTER TREE

Easter trees are becoming really popular. Paint some sticks and arrange in a vase, or use a real tree in the garden. Then, paint some plastic eggs to hang on it, or use colourful ribbons and maybe design your own decorations.

GET GARDENING

It’s spring so you can start planting some flowers. Bedding plants like pansies are the easiest to put in the ground and give instant flower power to your garden.

MAKE AN EASTER BONNET

Normally schools would be central to this but amid the restrictions it might have to be a home activity. All the family can make their own using paper, material and whatever else comes to hand – Lego characters are always a favourite in our house!

MAKE CHOCOLATE SAUCE

If Easter Sunday is too far away you can make a chocolate sauce to pour over ice cream. Melt about 50g of good dark chocolate in a bowl placed over a pan of just-simmering water. Then put 25g butter, 125ml double cream and 1tbsp of caster sugar in a pan and mix together over a low heat – once mixed pour it into the bowl of melted chocolate, blend and pour over ice cream. For a full version of this go to the BBC Good Food website.

DECORATE AN EASTER EGG BASKET

You need to be ready for the Easter Bunny so take a basket and paint it, decorate it with ribbons or make your own design – rabbit ears are always fun!

FINALLY, ENJOY AN EASTER EGG HUNT

Once the Easter Bunny has been you can fill your basket with eggs. But don’t eat them all at once!
