Founder Honoured with BEM for Transforming Young Lives Through Performing Arts
Anna Fiorentini, founder and principal of the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School has been awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) in the King’s Birthday Honours for her dedication to empowering young people. For 24 years, she has helped children build confidence, self-esteem, and life skills that extend far beyond the stage.
The school has a Saturday branch in Greenwich as well as in Stratford (Friday evenings), Docklands (Wednesday evenings), Hackney/Camden (Saturdays) and Loughton (Sundays). Students develop essential skills that prepare them for life. Confidence is nurtured so they can shine both on and off the stage. Transferable life skills such as communication, resilience, and teamwork ensure that students grow into well-rounded individuals. The school also fosters creativity and self-expression. Thanks to the theatrical agency, many students have also landed leading roles on TV, film and the West End stage.
This summer, the school’s Holiday Schools will give children the opportunity to explore their creativity while strengthening key life skills. Whether they want to unleash their inner pop star in a Musical Theatre Extravaganza or take a journey from London’s West End to the bright lights of Broadway, these experiences promise to inspire, entertain, and develop confidence.
Now is the perfect time to give your child the gift of self-belief and creativity - while also joining in next year’s special 25th anniversary celebrations!
