Art on Your Doorstep: National Gallery masterpieces coming to Torquay

Torre Abbey is proud to announce its participation in The National Gallery: Art on Your Doorstep, an ambitious new touring project bringing masterpieces from one of the world’s greatest art collections directly into communities across the UK. As one of the first four partners selected for the 2025–2026 programme, Torbay will host a unique outdoor exhibition from 6 March – 5 September 2026, showcasing life‑sized reproductions of iconic paintings from the National Gallery. Displayed in a free, open‑air trail stretching from Torre Abbey to Torquay Harbour, the exhibition will celebrate the beautiful seafront while spotlighting the Bay’s rich cultural heritage.

The best indoor fun this Easter!

Whatever the weather, Clip ‘n Climb Exeter is the perfect place for a family day out!  With over 25 exciting climbing challenges, there’s something for everyone —from first-time climbers to fearless adventurers.

Designed for children aged 7–11 and their parents or carers, these interactive sessions help families spot fake news, investigate images, challenge rumours and navigate the media safely. Funded by Ofcom, the programme encourages curiosity, critical thinking and open conversations about online content. U11 Exeter School girls shine at IAPS netball

 

The amount of sports on offer at Exeter School and the effort pupils put into it never fails to impress. On 5 March, the U11 girls’ netball team entered the U11 Netball IAPS tournament at Millfield School. The girls played against some strong teams, facing tough competition. After playing their best in the pool matches, the team got through to the plate where the girls ended up coming fourth. The standard of netball was high, and the girls really improved their play throughout the competition and demonstrated excellent resilience and a strong team spirit.
