Derby Grammar School Students Celebrate at Speech Night

Student's achievements across all areas of life at Derby Grammar School were recognised at Speech Night.
Academic, sporting, musical, creative and co-curricular success was rewarded at the event held at the Riverside Centre in Pride Park.
Headteacher,  Dr Ruth Norris, addressed the audience and talked about the improvements that have been made in the past year.

She said: "We have extended our curriculum, introduced Forest School, our higher education and careers advice has widened, we hae improved our Year 7 transition experience and our pastoral structure and we've invested in our facilities. We've also opened our new infant school. We have strong results this summer and our range of co-curricular opportunities astound me. We offer a rich and diverse curriculum; the list is endless. Derby Grammar School is a very special place to be."

Outgoing Head Prefect Elliot Butterworth gave a farewell talk. He said: "The future of Derby Grammar School looks good: a new part of the school is beginning and for this we have Dr Norris to thank. This school has given me so much and I am grateful for all of it."
