Christmas light switch-on, Christmas market and festive events at Peak Shopping Village 4 to 6 November
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas, as Peak Shopping Village in Rowsley, Derbyshire, prepares for a three-day Christmas event from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 November, packed full of activity and entertainment. The event comprises over 50 market stalls with a selection of wonderful street food, hand-crafted items, gifts and much more - and ‘The British Bus Bar’ - a double-decker bus bar serving ample festive cheer. The centre has also organised live music, entertainment and free activities for children. Entry is free and there is also free onsite parking.
The Christmas light switch-on evening will be hosted by popular Peak FM presenter Craig Bailey on Friday 4 November, and he won’t be the only familiar face in town, with recent apprentice candidate Alana Spencer also set to be in attendance throughout the weekend, selling delicious cakes with her company Narnas. Doors open to the public just before 6pm, and included in the line-up is live music from mini pro Bateria Can Samba and more traditional sounds from Ashover brass band, walkaround entertainment from Elsa and Hanz, and a spectacular fire show finale. The festive feeling will continue throughout Saturday and Sunday where shopping, market stalls and more festive fun will unfold.
Katayune Jacquin, manager of Peak Shopping Village, said: “Christmas is the highlight of the year for us, and an opportunity to showcase the village and its beautiful Christmas lights. We’ve put together a special, magical winter weekend, where families can enjoy wonderful street food, shopping, entertainment and activities with no admission fee and free parking.
