Getting children involved in dancing and drama provides a positive way to help them build life skills. It helps them bring out their natural talents which increases their confidence and self-belief. Dancing helps them to develop their poise and posture and overall physical fitness levels. Being involved in creative activities expands their opportunities in life and gives them the chance to get involved in stage shows, local festivals or local theatres and can give them a tremendous sense of achievement whether or not they decide to take the examination and medals route. Of course dance and drama are great ways to keep children entertained during their leisure time and are a great way to develop lifelong friendships but equally important are the opportunities to discover what they are capable of. Pushing the boundaries in creative environments can help children realise just what’s possible in life which can be applied not just in the arts but whatever career they choose to follow.
