Keswick Cinema Undergoes Refurbishment

Keswick’s Alhambra Cinema is an independent, family owned cinema located in the heart of Keswick.

Reopened in October 2021 following a major refurbishment, the cinema has been brought into the 21st century with the addition of a second screen and a full refurbishment of the cinema foyer, reception areas and the red brick façade.

We have the latest digital projector technology and full Dolby sound in both screens. Audiences can experience the original 175 seat auditorium, built in 1914 and now fully updated, or the new studio screen, a fully modern space with just 28 seats and the feeling of a cosy, private cinema.

Two screens means that the cinema now shows a much wider variety of films and there are choices appealing to all ages, whether young kids, teenagers or young adults, in addition to our traditional programme of mainstream films.

Saturday Kids Club, with a younger appeal, has two screenings every Saturday where kids can bring an adult with them for free. We show a full range of Disney, Marvel and other films appealing to younger and older kids, as well as all the major blockbusters with a broad family audience in mind.
