Queen's Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in Cornwall 2022
As you are no doubt aware, various events will be taking place across the region to celebrate 70 years of service by Her Majesty The Queen. As well as activities during the extended bank holiday from 2nd to 5th June, there will also be themed things-to-do across communities and in other venues. We have pulled together a selection of events below and will add more as they become available.
Some events may come with a charge or require booking. Check their websites to confirm. Do not forget that some activities are subject to change. The Queen’s Green Canopy – individuals, community groups, villages, cities, schools and businesses are invited to plant trees to mark the Jubilee year:
The Big Jubilee Lunch – this year’s annual celebration for neighbours and community takes place during the Jubilee celebration and many events will be Jubilee themed.
Various locations - Crantock, Liskeard, Maker With Rame, Newquay, Portreath, Saltash, Torpoint,
Free augmented reality story trail in and around town centres. Use your smartphone to discover characters along the route and take selfies and videos with them.
Free craft sessions run by local artists. Early booking is advised to guarantee your slot.

Clay Jubilee Tiles - 29th May and 11th June at Dracaena Centre. Design your own clay tile. Create a design to take home as well as adding a tile to the Dracaena Centre Garden's Jubilee artwork. Recommended for ages 5 to 12
Make and Take: Creating Characters- 31st at The Poly. Hear a story and create your very own character using a mix of collage, cardboard and drawing. The theme for the workshop will be 'Imaginary Friends' with an emphasis on creative imagination and the reusing of materials. This is an hour long workshop for ages 8 to 10.
Make and Take: Crown Making - 4th June at The Poly. Drop in between 10am and 12pm to make your own crown this Jubilee Weekend.
5th June – The Big Jubilee Lunch on the Killacourt with live music and garden games – bring your own picnic lunch. See the website for a full schedule of events.
All day free entertainment on the lawn with 1950s music and family fun. Live music, entertainment, face painting, circus, lawn games, craft tables and more.
Thursday 2nd – Beacon Lighting. Friday 3rd – Platinum Jubilee Festival at Thanckes Park, a free fun packed day for families with children’s entertainment, bouncy castle, stalls, fireworks and more. 5th June – Big Jubilee Lunch Street Parties.
Alice-in-Wonderland themed tea party on the café terrace to celebrate the Jubilee. Find all the crowns in the outdoor treasure hunt and enjoy an afternoon tea.
Entertainment and stage, competitions, stalls and sideshows also The Big Jubilee Lunch on 5th June. Full programme of events and timings to be announced.
2nd June -Proms in the Park and other activities from 2:30pm at the Jubilee Park
3rd Jun - Community Day at Jubilee Park including forest school, circus skills, craft workshops, fairground rides and a bouncy castle at the Jubilee Park
4th June – Carnival fun day at Jubilee Park between 11am and 4pm with fairground rides, bouncy castle and the carnival queen selection.
.5th June – Big Lunch at Molesworth Street from 11 am and Family Fun Day with live music and picnic on the grass from 11am.
Bring your own picnic to enjoy next to the cats to raise money for the RSPCA with a cake slae, raffles, stalls and fun and games for all the family. Booking essential.
2nd June - lighting of the beacon in Camborne Town Square
5th June - Jubilee Picnic In The Park at Camborne Recreation Ground. Lawn games as well as Jubilee themed entertainment and food and drink caterers which can be enjoyed in the sunshine or you can bring your own picnic.
Street party along Wharf Road with community tables spread across the harbour. Fireworks from Smeaton’s Pier at 10pm. BYO food or buy in town. Entertainment is also planned.
