Vitality Blast Returns to Cardiff for a Summer of Big Hits, Friday Nights and Family Fun

Fast-paced cricket is back in Cardiff this summer as the 2026 Vitality Blast gets ready to light up Sophia Gardens with six home fixtures for Glamorgan County Cricket Club.

Running from 22 May to 18 July, the Vitality Blast is one of the most exciting competitions in cricket, combining explosive batting, high-energy entertainment and a lively atmosphere that feels more like a summer festival than a traditional sporting event.

Glamorgan Men will host six group-stage matches in Cardiff, including four popular Friday night fixtures under the floodlights:

This year also includes three exciting double-header matchdays, where fans can watch both the Glamorgan Women and Men teams in action with just one ticket.

Wednesday 3 June

The Friday night Blast matches have become a standout part of Cardiff’s summer calendar, with crowds enjoying warm evenings, music, DJs and a buzzing atmosphere around the ground as games stretch into the night under the floodlights.

One of the biggest appeals of the Vitality Blast is how accessible it is for everyone — even if you have never watched cricket before. With music between overs, entertainment around the stadium and a relaxed atmosphere, it is designed to be an enjoyable night out as much as a sporting event.

Families are also well catered for at Sophia Gardens, with open concourse spaces, family activities on the lawn, chances to meet beloved mascot Morgan the Dragon, player autograph opportunities and street food available throughout the venue. Fancy dress is often spotted in the crowd too, adding to the fun, festival-style atmosphere.

Located in the heart of Cardiff, Sophia Gardens is easy to reach whether you are heading in after work for a Friday evening fixture or planning a full day out at the weekend.

Tickets are also great value, with prices starting from £19 for adults, £6 for children and £11 for students, group offers are also available.

Whether you are a lifelong cricket supporter or simply looking for something different to do this summer, the 2026 Vitality Blast in Cardiff is set to be one of the city’s standout events.
