There’s something different about a Welsh Fire matchday at Sophia Gardens.
Maybe it’s the noise when a six disappears into the crowd. Maybe it’s the music between overs, the packed-out stands, or the sight of kids dancing while parents try to pretend they’re only there for the cricket.
Whatever it is, one thing’s for certain — this isn’t a quiet day out.
Too much fun. Too loud. Too much ice cream. We love cricket.
This summer, Welsh Fire return to Sophia Gardens for four huge home fixtures in The Hundred, bringing world-class stars, fast-paced cricket and a packed atmosphere to Cardiff once again.
If you came along last year, you’ll already know what to expect. Big crowds. Big moments. A full stadium bouncing from the first ball to the final over.
And if you haven’t experienced it yet? There’s never been a better time to start.
After a huge Hundred Draft, Welsh Fire head into the summer with one of their strongest squads yet, featuring stars including Joe Root, Phil Salt, Sophie Devine, Georgia Wareham, Freya Kemp and Lockie Ferguson.
But a Welsh Fire matchday is about far more than what happens on the pitch.
From the moment the gates open, Sophia Gardens comes alive. Music turned up loud. Fans on their feet. Food, entertainment and something happening around every corner.
You don’t need to know every rule to know you’re having a good time.
Whether it’s your first visit or a summer tradition, Welsh Fire offers the kind of atmosphere that brings everyone together. Friends, families, lifelong cricket fans and people just looking for a brilliant day out in Cardiff.
Arrive, settle in, and let the day take care of itself.
