Free dance and prop making workshops ahead of a relaxed performance in Cardiff Bay this April.

National Dance Company Wales are performing in Cardiff Bay this month.

Families can enjoy the show in a relaxed environment, with an open door meaning they are able to bring refreshments, make noise and get up if needed, and without fear of darkness often experienced in theatres.

Those attending will also have the chance to learn some moves and make props inspired by the show in the Wales Millennium Centre foyer from 11am.

The show named ‘Zoetrope’ includes a host of colourful characters including chimps, lizards and skeletons that will have children’s imaginations running wild.

The Family Fun Day on Saturday 27 April is free to attend and children will be able to make their own Zoetrope and take part in a dance workshop, before enjoying the performance together.

Parents will also have access to fun and varied activity sheets to make and do at home.

“Zoetrope is the perfect family treat,” says Maris Lyons, Engagement Producer NDCWales.

Zoetrope will be at the Dance House, Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff from 26 to 27 April. Tickets are just £6 for under 26s and £12 for adults.

National Dance Company Wales is supported by the Arts Council of Wales and Welsh Government. Zoetrope is also supported by the Colwinston Foundation, The Hodge Foundation and Abderrahim Crickmay Charitable Settlement.
