Help Warwick scientists find out how surprise helps children learn new words

Ever wondered how children learn so many words so quickly? Researchers at WaR.K.s (Warwick Research with Kids) at the University of Warwick are carrying out a study that aims to help answer this question.

With funding from the Leverhulme Trust, they use infrared light to track where a child is looking on a screen as they listen to short stories. This safe technology - known as eye-tracking - allows the researchers to understand when a child is surprised by what they hear. If you have a budding child scientist who is 4 or about to turn 4, visit the website to find out how you can become part of the study!
