The High School of Thriving

Junior Years pupils at the High School of Dundee are thriving!

They benefit from small class sizes which allow every child to receive the attention they need to develop and grow. Teachers really get to know the pupils and their families in a friendly, caring environment where the children look out for each other and form friendships which can last a lifetime.

Every day, the children spend time working on the crucial building blocks of literacy and numeracy, taking part in engaging, age and stage appropriate activities to help them develop and master these vital skills. Each and every day the pupils are motivated and encouraged to find their niche. The teachers love seeing children discover and develop new interests and passions through a packed co-curricular timetable (lunchtime and after school) and a structured – but fun! – curriculum ensures that learning really takes off!

Over and above its extensive primary school curriculum, every week the school’s Secondary teachers deliver lessons in Junior Years too. P1-5 have Music and PE and P6 and P7 also have Drama, Computing and Health and Food Technology specialist lessons. Support for Learning is available from P1 upwards to help each child excel and thrive.
