Local primary schools continue their journey of success

Moorhill Primary School and Redhill Primary School, both based in Cannock, converted to academy status last week after joining Shaw Education Trust.

Following a successful consultation period, both schools have joined the growing multi academy trust and will benefit from access to expertise, resources and opportunities through the collaborative approach the Trust provides.

Speaking of the change, Libby Banks, Headteacher of Redhill Primary School, said: “This is our opportunity to become part of something special. Collaboration is at the heart of a better and stronger future for all our community.

“The Trust’s values are well aligned with our own and being part of their wider family will help us to further improve and shape aspirational outcomes for all.”

Shaw Education Trust, which now has 28 schools reaching from Birmingham to Greater Manchester, provides quality education across all phases, all sectors and all communities.

Through sharing knowledge, expertise and resources, the Trust provide innovative opportunities to staff and students alike, including Trust-wide competitions, professional development courses and school-to-school support.

Sarah Sindrey, Headteacher of Moorhill Primary School commented: “At Moorhill we are on a continuous drive for improvement. Our governors and I believe that joining Shaw Education Trust will give the school greater capacity to excel, by drawing on the vast expertise and experience of innovative professionals who hold children at the heart of all they do.

“We firmly believe that this is the right step for the school community and will strengthen the children’s learning experiences and outcomes as they progress through primary school.”

Staff at both schools are looking forward to working in collaboration with colleagues from across the Trust and to accessing the high-quality support that is available.

The wealth of opportunity that Shaw Education Trust brings is inspiring and an exciting move for two schools that are committed to their community.

With the end of the term fast approaching, both the Trust and school are excited about the conversion. Jo Morgan, CEO of the Shaw Education Trust, said: “We strive to ensure all our pupils will be nurtured, supported and challenged to become the very best versions of themselves.

“The Trust’s wraparound support, and continued partnership with local schools and Staffordshire Local Authority, will accelerate awesome opportunities for success by delivering high quality education for all the young people at Moorhill and Redhill Primary School.”
