Half Term activities in Cornwall
That formidable blend of bracing, biting, blustery gusts of wind and chillingly cold temperatures prompts plenty of families to speed hastily towards the warm comforts of home; yet adopting an approach where winter is welcomed can make it easier to swiftly pass through the coldest, darkest months of the year. Besides, an exploration of the great outdoors or a few hours at an attraction is the perfect medicine for the winter slump and a superb antidote to lift spirits. We’ve confronted the elements to find you a whole host of events and ideas to fill your winter days...
Take to the skies at Newquay’s newest attraction!
Opening Friday 29 March 2013, Classic Air Force is home to Europe’s largest collection of airworthy post-war classic aircraft. Far from being a typical air museum, this is a living, working museum, where many of the aircraft are in an airworthy condition and actually fly. Nowhere else in the UK offers you such an opportunity to get up close to these vintage aircraft and experience the smells, sounds and atmosphere of a bygone era when the UK was at the pinnacle its rich aviation heritage.
An exciting and interactive day out for the whole family with a fun packed programme of adventure and events await you at this all-weather attraction. Young or old, there is something for everyone such as children’s activities, simulator rides, an aviation adventure and experiences, maintenance demonstrations, engine starts and much, much more. Let your imagination be fired up by the roar of a jet or the clatter of a piston engine, with many airworthy aircraft and as many static exhibits in this unique collection. Whether you want to reminisce about a bygone era, wonder at the technological marvels or take to the skies in one of the vintage aeroplanes, Classic Air Force has something for everyone. You will find Classic Air Force at Hangar 404 in St Mawgan, Newquay. For more details ring 01637 860032 or go to www.classicairforce.com
