The Holiday Camp Going Green With Fun

House of Fun, a fun-filled holiday camp created and run by teachers based at Thomas Reade Primary School in Abingdon, is delighted to announce its new sustainability initiative, ‘Trash to Treasure’ set to run during its half term course, from Tuesday 23rd to Thursday 25th October.

Staff at House of Fun will provide recyclable objects from local scrap-store Orinoco, so children can turn them into their own artistic treasures and help reduce the load headed to landfill. From old tin boxes, broken necklaces to scrunched up paper a new lease of life will be given to disregarded items by the kids under the guidance of House of Fun’s professional art teacher who will encourage them to be creative and imaginative.

The new ‘green’ course will run alongside all normal House of Fun activities, catering for 5-12 year-olds.

The large array of fun available at House of Fun includes team sports such as tag rugby, football and basketball to cookery, streetdance, ultimate frisbee and singing and there is plenty for the younger ones too, including an adventure playground, face painting and a bouncy castle.

House of Fun provides juice, water and biscuits for snacks during the day and children bring their own packed lunch.  Bookings can be made for half and individual days and extended hours are also offered starting from 8.30am-6pm.

Prices start at £35 for one day and check out the House of Fun website for upcoming specialist art & crafts and cookery courses, prices starting at £40 per day.
