To help keep energetic kids entertained over the school break, we’ve been busy rounding up loads of brilliant activities across the county. So, get ready to mix up your days with essential ‘chilling time’ at home, rampaging around play parks and gardens, tracking down the treasure trails or pursuing the Easter bunny! Here’s a whole basketful of ideas for you to consider - and they don’t all include eating chocolate!

 

Get your kids active this Easter at Rock UK’s Frontier Centre

During school holidays, keep the kids busy and give yourself a break for a day or even a week at Rock UK’s exciting activity holiday clubs. Available during the school Easter holidays; your kids can make new friends, learn a little about their Christian faith and have lots of fun in the outdoors trying out a wide range of adventure activities. Frontier Centre in Irthlingborough has 122 acres of woodland, a river and lake for water sports and open grounds with stunning views across Stanwick Lakes nature reserve along the picturesque Nene Valley. Easter Extravaganza at Mini Meadows Farm

For an eggcellent family day out, join the gang at Mini Meadows Farm for their Easter Extravaganza Bank Holiday weekend! National Space Centre hatches a brand new Planetarium show this Easter!

Join the National Space Centre for a journey that, 50 years ago, landed humans on the Moon. The Apollo space programme is one of the greatest achievements of humankind. It saw one giant leap in not only exploration, but also science that has impacted on our lives more often than we realise. Thirty-two astronauts were assigned to fly in the Apollo manned lunar landing program. Twenty-four of them, flying on nine different missions, reached an orbit around the Moon and twelve stepped onto the lunar surface. Easter Family Fun at Gulliver’s Theme Parks!

Seed Bombs Away! 

Canons Ashby are inviting you to help them care for nature over the Easter holidays. Get your hands dirty, make a big muddy seed ball using their ingredients and see who can throw the furthest. You’ll be helping them fill their green spaces with beautiful wildflowers which will encourage insect life to thrive. Adults or families are encouraged to take part between 6th-18th April, 11am-3pm. Find lots of free family fun around Kettering to keep everyone happy!

Hop down to Kettering this holiday and join in the ‘eggscellent’ Easter Egg Hunt from Saturday 6th-Saturday 20th April, 10am-4pm, where 15 eggs will be hiding in various locations in the town centre. Simply pick up a map from the Manor House Museum for a suggested cash donation of 50p. What will you create at the Manor House Museum? 

Do you love Lego? Then go along to the Lego play day at the Manor House Museum on Friday 12th April and show off your creative skills! There is building fun for all, with Duplo provided for little ones. There’s no booking required and there’s free entry from 11am-3pm. You’ll also find spring time craft activities over the holidays for ages 3 years and up. Sessions start at 10.15am & 11.45am at £3 per child with discounts available. Easter fun in the Nene Wetlands!

With flowers blooming, insects emerging and birds nesting, spring is nature’s busiest time of year! Join the Wildlife Trust in their visitor centre at Rushden Lakes during the Easter holidays, learn all about spring wildlife and make crafts to take home. West Lodge Easter Eggstravaganza

The Hunt for Eggs is on!

Oh no! Wicky has lost his Easter Eggs in the park! Can you help find them? They have nearly 147-acres worth of land where he could have lost them. Join the quest from April 6th – 22nd, collect a £3 sheet from Reception, and Wicky will reward you with a delicious treat! There are lots of activites throughout Easter – join an exciting Curious Croquet event where you can make your own croquet mallet topper and ball, then go and join them to play Croquet!
