Wild Prizes from Falkirk’s Mischief Makers Summer Reading Challenge

Falkirk’s Community Trust’s summer reading challenge offers the chance for young people to get free entry to the Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park. This year’s theme is ‘Mischief Makers’, and is based on the much-loved Beano comic, commemorating its 80th anniversary. The challenge started on 16th June, and launched with pupils from Denny Primary School being invited to the Stirling Safari Park to meet some of the animals. The pupils got to get up close to giraffes and read stories to a 16 week old European eagle owl named Benedict Cumberbatch.

The challenge ends on 18th August, where to have completed the programme primary-aged children over four must have read six library books over at least three visits to their local library. Stickers, posters, and other goodies can be collected from the library over the three visits.

Other prizes for finishing the reading challenge include one free swim at a Falkirk Community Trust swimming pool (Bo'ness Recreation Centre, Grangemouth Sports Complex or the Mariner Centre), and a medal and certificate from your local library.
