Killearn’s Children's Book Festival

In early September Killearn hosted its first book festival, giving families the opportunity to meet some of Scotland’s popular children’s authors. Writers and artists from across the country gathered at the Village Hall to put on an array of art, music, dancing, poetry and writing classes for children.

The event gave budding young writers, readers, and artists the chance to speak to the authors, take part in classes, and to enjoy a selection of excerpts read from their favourite books. There were 10 invited guests on the day reading their books, many of whom utilised music, puppets, and more to fully bring their stories to life and entertain their audiences.

The festival was brought to fruition by Killearn Community Council, with support from Killearn Community Futures Trust, the Scottish Book Trust and Stirling Council.
