Shakespeare Shorts: The Taming of the Shrew

Kate’s cast is revolting; fed up of being outnumbered by the audience, they want to make Shakespeare fun to watch by turning the history plays into a rugby game, Romeo and Juliet into an ice cream war and Hamlet into a comedy. Kate, their director, is in despair. But can Petrucio tame this tyrant? Music and mayhem in a modern day version of this classic, specially adapted for a young audience.

In Starting Now, young people express themselves through dance, choreographed by leading makers. Four groups give us styles such as hip hop, contemporary dance, physical theatre and more, in a great show designed to light up The Year of Young People. Starting Now has exclusive performances by Dance Base’s own Lothian Youth Dance Company, Edinburgh based hip hop crew Mini Jackers, TIM Scottish Dance Theatre Creative Learning and guests.
